Dr. Angelica McCarthy, DAT, LAT, ATC (she/her/hers) is a licensed/certified athletic trainer who received her Clinical Doctorate in Athletic Training (DAT) Summa Cum Laude from Temple University. She works with individuals from all walks of life who are in pursuit of sustaining a healthy, pain-free lifestyle. Her purpose is to guide individuals in awareness and understanding of their whole person, through a holistic-based approach, to support longevity of health & well-being, movement, and life. Her philosophy is to treat the whole person - mind, body, and soul to get to the root of the problem and focus on the solution that is right for the individual whether through health & well-being promotion and education, injury prevention, functional movement and performance enhancement.
As part of her mission to bring light and awareness to individual health & well-being to prevent chronic injury/illness, inspire healthy lifestyle living, and provide access to quality patient-centered holistic-based healthcare, Dr. McCarthy founded McCarthy Athletic Training & Wellness to bridge the healthcare gap and support all individuals in their health & well-being from the arts and sports to the industrial and corporate settings. In addition, her decade of clinical experience rooted primarily in performing arts medicine has led her to co-create Sustainability for the Arts to empower personal and professional growth for the arts community to step up to their fullest potential. Dr. McCarthy is also a part of the U.S. Tennis Association Athletic Medicine Team on the Women’s Professional Circuit and is partnered with Fusionetics and Juice Plus+® as an advocate to inspire and encourage healthy living through movement efficiency and nutrition.
When not co-creating Rhythmic Waters – Visual Meditations with her Latin Grammy ® Award winning husband Joe, she loves to ground herself with nature at the beach, meditate, eat tons of seafood, and enjoy a good book!
